One more giant crane for an Indian nuclear power plant

Baltkran shipped the second overhead crane for Indian nuclear power plant Kudankulam.

Before the shipment the acceptance inspection was carried out by a specialist of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) and by representatives of Atomstroyexport and of North-western branch of Zarubezhatomenergostroy. The cranes were produced according to Russian and Indian standards for design and manufacturing of equipment for nuclear facilities.

A representative of the customer Mr. Raghava Rao, a quality inspector at NPCIL, signed the acceptance report and stated that he was very satisfied with the equipment quality and expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the project implementation.

The crane capacity is 180+180/32 t, it is equipped with two trolleys, which are used in tandem operation for assembly of heavy expensive equipment of the turbine department such as generator stator, generator rotor and other turbine devices. For this purpose the giant has a system of fine load positioning. Hoisting height is 29 m, crane span is more than 40m. Cranes control system, developed by Baltkran, prevents collision of overhead cranes operating at different levels as well as load collision. The crane design assures for reliability and safety for the whole service life which is more than 50 years.

It has been the second crane capacity 360 for Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) this year. The cranes will be transported via the Northern Sea Route through three oceans (the Arctic Ocean, the Pacific ocean and the Indian ocean) , and seven seas (the Barents Sea , the Kara sea, the Laptev sea, the East Siberian Sea, the Chukchi Sea, the Bering sea, the Laccadive Sea).

BALTKRAN won a tender for supply of an overhead crane for a world giant Severstal using state-of-the-art and advanced technologies at its production sites as well as automated equipment for manufacturing of hot-rolled coils for export to Europe, the USA and other countries. The crane capacity 40 t is designed for heavy duty operation A7 and high efficiency with handling rate 100 coils per hour. The crane will be delivered in the middle of the year.
