Gantry Container Crane for Srednevolzhsky Logistic Company from Baltkran

Company ordering the crane is the first logistic provider of the Volga region. It was introduced in 2004 in the town of Kinel, Samara region. OAO Srednevolzhsky Logistic Company has several terminals A and B and intermodal container terminal, where a new gantry container crane will be erected for high-capacity containers handling. Kaliningrad joint-stock company Baltkran was entrusted with manufacturing of this crane.

Company in Samara, which is already well-known on Russian market by its activity, is now planning to increase transport flow for economic prosperity of the region. In order to implement this aim, there was a need for a special wide-span gantry container crane with lattice structure of the bridge and side legs. The distance between the legs in the upper part of the crane enables to move 20', 40', 45' containers as well as refrigerator containers with various types of goods. Lattice structure of the bridge is a well-proven, stable structure, that can withstand wind force, snow and ice doesn't stick to its metal structure - and it's highly important, because the crane will operate on an open windy area.

All types of containers will be handled on the same ground. According to the ordering company estimations 2/3 of goods will be handled in 20' containers, while the other part in 40' and 45' containers. Lifting capacity of the crane under the spreader is 35t.

A modular principle of crane units design was put in the framework of this project, which takes into account immense experience of Baltkran in designing and manufacturing of various cranes models. The crane has the 70 m long bridge, which enables to stack 3+1 containers and in more quantities. The special traveling synchronization system is being elaborated for the 42 m wide span of the crane. This system also has sensors, that register all technical data of the crane units, responsible for crane traveling.

All aspects pertaining to the crane repair ability, power capacity and environmental issues were considered in the crane project. Also quiet working conditions of the crane are provided - what is very important, because the terminal is situated within the city boundaries.

Operator's cabin complies with all modern requirements: panoramic view, ergonomics, climate-control. All complex of comprehensive solutions have been taken into account while designing and manufacturing operator's cabin - possibility to use different heater modes at operator's choice, bigger area covered in glass.

Thus, Srednevolzhsky Logistic Company will receive reliable and robust gantry container crane with long operating resource, which ensures resolving of all operation issues. After commissioning of this crane, the capacity of the container area will be on average 25-30 thousand containers annually.
