New heavy duty cranes for nuclear stations | |||||
Baltkran OAO has secured an order for fabrication and delivery of two complex overhead cranes operating in the storehouses where the nuclear waste is disposed and they are located at Kurskaya and Leningradskaya Nuclear Stations. Only highly sophisticated and reliable machinery is used at Nuclear Stations. Production facilities, long term experience and gained know-how allow Baltkran to receive orders for such cranes where high operational requirements demanded by Nuclear Authorities are applied. Special materials are used offering resistance to radiation deactivation and are proofed to be reliable at temps between -40C +60C and seismic activity 7 (Richter scale). Both cranes can lift loads rated between 3 and 160 tons with their deadweight of 210 tons. They will be equipped with sophisticated control system. The bridge girder will be 33.5m long. The cranes are scheduled for delivery in September 2006. From 2000 to 2005 Baltkran has delivered more than 70 cranes to nuclear stations, including China and India considering their local operating environment. Back to News
