New Baltkran's deliveries for Caucasus | |||||
Baltkran has started production of a container crane for an intermodal terminal in Nalchik (North Caucasus)
A new double cantilever double girder container crane will handle about 60 thousand TEUs annually and will be used for fast growing container trade. The crane spans trucks lanes, staking and railway lines. Capacity of the crane is 41 t; total bridge length is about 60 m. The machine is equipped with a telescopic spreader for handling 20-40' containers. Rigid rope reeving allows gantry and trolley movement without sway and efficient handling. Frequency controlled drives provide for smooth and safe movement as well as economic energy consumption due to optimal workload. Ergonomic rotating cabin has all-round visibility creating good conditions for safe work and maximal productivity. Crane portal is divided by modules which are transported by conventional railway platforms and trucks. The crane is equipped with mechanisms for silent operation within city limits. Delivery of the crane is scheduled at the end of 2011. Commissioning will be performed by Baltrkan's technical service team. “Baltkran has already delivered 6 container cranes to Caucasus region as well as several gantry, overhead and portal cranes to date. This region has been strongly developed after the decision was made to hold the Olympic Games in Sochi” said Arthur Ermolaev vice-president for sales of Baltkran.
